On the outskirts of Bathurst lies another Australian ‘big icon’.

Paying homage to the gold rush of yesteryear, The Big Gold Panner stands (or kneels) in a park alongside the Great Western Highway at Kelso.

There’s not a lot of signage, so if you’re driving toward Bathurst in a westerly direction, keep looking to the right and you might spot him!
