The Great Rebranding!

With my novels now being advertised across Kindle, I decided a serious facelift was in order.

Hopefully these changes might make the books appear a little more enticing and generate some sales.

I have both old and new covers on display below – old to the left and new to the right.

My Author page on Facebook

Last night I created a Facebook page, for the sole purpose of promoting my work.

However, I ran into some early trouble….

Suspended within ten hours of launching the page for breaching community standards.

But after a quick appeal, I received an immediate answer saying that my page DOES adhere to these rules, and I was reinstated.

What is going on?

KISS at the AFL Grand Final…pretty damn good!

Considering these guys are aged in their seventies, and with the mid-afternoon temperature hitting around thirty degrees, it’s fair to say they put on a great show!

It would have to be one of the best performances ever seen at a Grand Final, as opposed to some of the more ‘questionable’ efforts witnessed over the years.

Two immediately spring to mind…

Meatloaf. Need I say more?

And let’s not forget Angry Anderson and the ‘Batmobile’.

Below is a link to the KISS performance and it’s well worth a watch.

Baylan Skoll

Who is this mysterious former Jedi and why are so many Star Wars fans talking about him?

Baylan Skoll would have to be one of the more interesting characters introduced into the Star Wars Universe for a very long time, and the ‘Ahsoka’ series is all the more stronger because of this.

Not a lot is known about Skoll; only that he was once a Jedi Knight, is aged around the same age as Anakin Skywalker, and is an Order 66 survivor. Presumably he has hidden in the outer regions of the galaxy for many years, operating as a mercenary-for-hire; a choice of profession which has now resulted in him crossing paths with Ahsoka Tano.

What sets Baylan Skoll apart from previous antagonists in Star Wars is that he follows a code of honour and principles that he will never break. That being said, once given no choice but to resort to violence in order to achieve his objectives, he doesn’t mess around.

Skoll is very much like a knight from medieval times, and his armour, design of lightsabre and fighting style reflect as much. It was interesting to compare both the sounds and apparent weight difference between both he and Ahsoka’s weapons during their epic duel.

But I think the appeal of Baylan Skoll comes about mainly through a brilliant performance from the late Ray Stevenson, who passed away only months before the series was released. It truly is a master class of acting; from powerful monologues, through to scenes where he only speaks one word; Stevenson’s screen presence is undeniable.

‘Ahsoka’ is currently streaming on Disney Plus.

Antarctic Banknotes…Truth or gimmick?

All indicators point to these being real, but angled toward tourists visiting Antarctica.

Either way, they are easily ordered through eBay and are not expensive, so I decided to check them out for myself.

These are strange banknotes, to say the least.

The guy on the $20 note reminds me of Ron DeSantis, which is also a little odd.

Full sets of these notes can be purchased on eBay from a number of sellers, and would cost less than $20.

North Korean Banknotes

Yes! It is possible to order these on eBay or through coin and note dealers.

These are proper banknotes, much like our old paper notes in Australia – with that distinctive aroma and a watermark you can see when you hold it up to the light.

The small ticket of paper you can see in the second photo is, I believe, a permission slip – or some form of proof of authenticity. So although these North Korean notes may be for tourist or visitor use only, they are still genuine.

I decided the best way to immortalise this collection was to carefully protect each note in plastic and frame them up, complete with portraits of the Supreme Leaders.

For anyone interested, I purchased a couple of sets through Bruce at North Melbourne Collectables on eBay for $40.

The notes were delivered promptly, were very carefully packed, and arrived in mint condition.

Chemtrails debunked…partially, at least.

This epic trail stretched across Sydney yesterday morning.

You can note the slight ‘bend’ or course correction in the bottom left hand corner.

The bend is more prominent in the photo below.

At this point, I will reveal that both shots were taken facing North from Parramatta Road, Flemington.

Below is what FlightRadar revealed at the exact same moment.

Note the flight path of the aircraft, as well as my position at the blue dot near Burwood.

The identity of the plane causing the trail is detailed below.

This trail was created by a commercial flight, proving that not every line in the sky is the result of some kind of spraying or release of chemicals.

This is not to say that chemtrails do not exist, but it needs to be understood that under certain atmospheric conditions, ordinary jets can produce large trails across our skies.
